The amazing hike!

On Saturday May 2nd Gloria took some of the teachers and friends on a wonderful hike it was a blast! Most of the trek was walking on a log ladder that lined the path. I was afraid that I might slip and break an ankle or leg because there was quite a space between logs. The hike was so beautiful and green. We even saw a few monkeys they were pretty cool. We all got to the top and had some snacks and sat around and talked for a while. Then we descended down which was much faster than going up especially since it was starting to get dark. It was a great hike overall.

So crazy story while I was in America I had my van parked in front of Todd and Vicki's house and I was getting ready for church when Vicki came in and told me my car had been hit. I was freaking out and went out to look sure enough this is what I found. I was so mad I thought it was a hit and run and I had no idea how I was going to pay to have it fixed. I called the police to report a hit and run so I was going to file it Monday morning. Later Sunday night there was a knock on the door and we joked that maybe it was the person who hit my car but sure enough it was. He explained the whole story and what had happened. Sat night the winds were very very strong and he had a trailer parked in front of his house that he uses to haul motorcycles. His trailer blew across the street and rammed right into the drivers side door of the van. So crazy I couldn't believe that how random is that. I hope his insurance takes care of everything.

My little Cooper

I love so many of my kids I have a lot of favorites. They are just too darn cute to pick one but if I could take one of them home it would be my little Cooper. Cooper is my buddy he calls me that everyday (mainly because they parrot everything you say but that is beside the point). Cooper is one of the morning kindergarten students so I get to start my day with him everyday. We sit on little mats during opening and I always sit by him. We have a little game where I tickle his feet or play with his hair and he does the same to me. My favorite is a brush of the cheek or a pat on the back cause he is just adorable when he does it to me. Cooper is kind of a trouble maker sometimes and he likes to bowl people over a lot. A common phrase heard in class is teacher Cooper hurt me. I don't like sending him to the secretaries though, but I have had to a couple of times in PE which was so sad. I hope his parents don't mind that I'm bringing him home with me.

The beginning of my blog

well I'm very new to this whole blog thing so here goes. Right now I am living in Taiwan teaching English to cute little kindergartners and first graders. I am loving it here in Taiwan. My goal in teaching is to learn more patience for kids and to become a better teacher both things are hard for me. I am learning about the many cultural differences here it is kinda fun. The people here are so friendly and helpful. There have been many times that I have felt like a celebrity because people are always looking at me and want to talk and take their picture with me it is fun I like it. I have been here for a little over 2 months now and feel like I am kind of starting to get the hang of teaching but still have a long ways to go. I will probably feel comfortable with it by the time I'm ready to go home. I guess I will just have as much fun as I can in the process of learning how to teach.
